Method
Step 1: Make the Lavender Syrup
Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and dried lavender.
Heat the Mixture: Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Steep: Once boiling, remove the pan from heat. Let it steep for about 30 minutes to allow the lavender to infuse its flavor.
Strain: After steeping, strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, discarding the lavender flowers. Let it cool to room temperature.
Step 2: Prepare the Cocktail
Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher, mix the cooled lavender syrup, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and water.
Add Vodka (if using): If you’re making an alcoholic version, stir in the vodka.
Chill: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to chill.
Serve: When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the cocktail over the ice, and garnish with fresh lavender sprigs and lemon slices.
Step 3: Enjoy!
Sip slowly and savor the delightful combination of flavors!
Variations
Non-Alcoholic Version: Skip the vodka for a refreshing mocktail. Add sparkling water for a bubbly twist.
Flavored Lavender Syrup: Experiment with different herbs, such as mint or rosemary, for a unique flavor profile.
Fruit-Infused: Add berries, such as raspberries or blueberries, for an added burst of color and flavor.
