Course Drinks
Cuisine American
- Ingredients:
- 1 cup ripe honeydew melon cubed
- 2 oz vodka you can use flavored vodka like vanilla or citrus for a twist
- 1 oz Midori melon liqueur
- 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice or lemon juice for a brighter flavor
- 1 tsp honey or simple syrup adjust to taste
- Ice cubes
- Honeydew melon balls for garnish
Step-by-Step Method:
Step 1: Prepare the Honeydew
Start by cubing a ripe honeydew melon. You want about 1 cup of juicy honeydew.
Tip: If you want extra melon flavor, freeze the melon cubes for a couple of hours before blending to make the martini extra cold without watering it down.
Step 2: Blend the Honeydew
Add the honeydew cubes to a blender and blend until smooth.
Tip: Strain the blended melon if you prefer a smoother texture.
Step 3: Mix the Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker, combine the following:
2 oz vodka
1 oz Midori
1 oz lime juice
1 tsp honey or simple syrup
A few ice cubes
Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until everything is well-mixed and chilled.
Note: If you don’t have a shaker, a mason jar with a lid works as a great alternative!
Step 4: Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into chilled martini glasses. Add a honeydew melon ball or a lime wedge for garnish.
Step 5: Enjoy!
Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Honeydew Martini with the girls! 🍈🍸
Variations & Tips:
Mocktail Version: If you're making this for girls who prefer a non-alcoholic option, swap the vodka and Midori with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda. You still get that delicious honeydew flavor without the alcohol kick.
Low-Sugar Option: To make this martini more diabetic-friendly, use a sugar-free simple syrup or a natural sweetener like Stevia instead of honey.
Dietary Needs: If you’re gluten-sensitive, make sure the vodka you're using is labeled gluten-free. Most plain vodkas are, but flavored ones can sometimes contain hidden gluten.
