Step-by-Step Method
Step 1: Make the Honey Lemonade Base
Juice the Lemons: Use a citrus juicer to extract fresh lemon juice. Measure out 1/2 cup and set aside.
Mix Honey and Water: In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice, honey, and cold water. Stir until the honey is completely dissolved. This might take a minute or two, but it’s worth the effort!
Let it Stand: Allow the mixture to sit for about 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Step 2: Prepare the Cocktail
Fill the Shaker: In a cocktail shaker, fill it with ice cubes.
Add Ingredients: Pour in 1/2 cup of the honey lemonade base and 1/2 cup of vodka (if using).
Shake It Up: Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. This helps to chill the cocktail and blend the flavors.
Step 3: Serve
Strain and Pour: Strain the mixture into two glasses filled with ice cubes.
